SUSTAINABLE LAB

A steady integration of the OHI's Vision, Scientific Reason and Technology

OHI’s commitment to Global One Health has spurred the design and establishment of its home: The technologically advanced large facility compiling various research and educational entities of the School of Science and Technology, coupled with the shared state-of-the-art biomedical equipment and auditoria for wide-reaching scientific conferences and business meetings. Located on the School of Science and Technology Campus of the UG uphill from the P. Kavtaradze main street, the OHI exhibits a part of the integrative design of public and environmental health research and education, serving as a sustainable model for advanced academic interconnectivity and transformation within and beyond the above university system.

The In Silico Laboratory of Functional Genomics and Proteomics (LFGP)

Advances in genomics and proteomics offer promise for revolutionizing approaches to controlling and preventing human and animal diseases worldwide. The LFGP, as the pioneering unit of the OHI, serves as a hub for public health and biomedical researchers and students interested in studying microbial genomics, proteomics, and evolution. It provides access to state-of-the-art computational technologies and resources. The LFGP leverages advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including machine learning and deep learning approaches, to promote research and education in functional genomics, proteomics, metagenomics, and phylogenetics. The LFGP is dedicated to utilizing and consolidating multi-omics data, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and related data to tackle key scientific questions and challenges in a One Health perspective.
